The seahorses, scalloped edges and swirls suggestive of waves and water life. Each seahorse has one red rhinestone eye. Gold rhinestones decorate the entire comb. 7-1/2” across at its widest. 5 teeth extend up which would give a tiara like look when worn. 6” x 4.”

“Talc Paris de Coty, Blended in U.S.A.” The front and back are identical. The body is a glossy, pale, two-tone mottled mint green with teal bottom portion which is accented with gold scrolling and leaves. The very bottom of the tin is solid teal.
“Talc Au Parfum ‘Paris’ Coty, Compounded in USA,” printed on the bottom. Tin in greens and gold with scenes of buildings along the Seine and a round seal in the center with a picture of a old ship and what look like Latin words, one of which is “sigil” which means a sign, or seal, often with magical powers.

Cream celluloid Comb 5” across along the top, with a line of orange rhinestones. Rest of comb extends partially over the 23 teeth in a swirly symmetrical open work pattern. Comb 1-1/2” high. Looks like bone but could be bakelite. Comb has 2 flowers, each w/6 petals painted in black with gold centers and decorated with a swirly open work design decorated with heavy drops of bead like gold paint. 5 teeth, 5” x 3-1/4.”

Sticker on the bottom of the box says, “Guarantee to Consumer, After use ...if this article proves unsatisfactory, we will refund retail price, upon delivery to us, contents one-half used.” Powder wrapped in paper, appears not to have been used. DATE: 1890s through the turn of Century.

Dorothy Vernon Toilet Water
“Dorothy Vernon Toilet Water,” empty glass bottle, on the lithographic label is a grandly dressed woman in red wearing a large green plumed hat. Band around the neck says, “The Jennings Company Perfumers and “Grand Rapids, Mich.” Embossed on the brass cap is the company name and the brass stopper with the oval top says “Dorothy” and screws into cap. Bottom of bottle has a “2 Cents” postage style stamp that reads, “ Proprietary U.S. Internal Revenue.” Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall was a 1902 historical novel written by Charles Major about the life and romances of Dorothy Vernon in Elizabethan England. Top of neck to bottom of bottle 6” plus 1-1/4” stopper. DATE: Circa 1908.
