.800 Silver Perfume container with sponge applicator. The lid of the oval container has an embossed pastoral scene of a cherub holding a bunch of grapes. Sides embossed with garlands and wreaths. When opened the sponge has a strong scent. Bottom marked “.800 silver, Made in Italy.” In the 1730s the French artist Francois Boucher painted The Cherub Grape-pickers, and at least since then cherubs with grapes has been popular with artists and sculptures. 3/4” x 1-3/4.”

Amber Czech Glass Perfume Bottle
When the Collector bought the bottle in Budapest in 2001 she was told by the seller bought the bottles in that although the bottles weren’t original the molds were and that a limited number were made from the original molds that were discovered in the late 1990s in the Bohemian village of Desna. They are not marked but photos and information available online suggests that they are Desna designs. DATE: Original molds 1920 to 1940.

Bavaria Porcelain Perfume Bottle
Art deco geometric figural flapper in shades of blue, the stopper a white porcelain woman’s head, hair black flapper style with red lips and earrings. The head is attached to the cork which holds the glass dauber. Bottom marked “Bavaria.” The collector has seen the same bottle being sold as part of a three piece set which included a man and child. 6” from top of head stopper to the bottom of the bottle.

Opaque black bottle with clear faceted stopper. Bottle 3 sided, each side with a dancing nymph in relief. Bottle and stopper in art deco style. Bottle 4-1/2” plus 2-1/2” stopper.
Deep teal “Vantines Incense Tin”
Deep teal “Vantines Incense Tin” in black print “Lilac, Burning Perfume.” Shows a woman in silver silhouette kneeling besides a stylized tree, she is holding leaves up to her face. Back dark green and black with “Directions” and sketch of a Budda. Tin in art deco motif, 3-1/4” x 2-1/2” x 1-2. DATE: “Lilac” first appeared on the market in 1940.
Dorothy Vernon Toilet Water
“Dorothy Vernon Toilet Water,” empty glass bottle, on the lithographic label is a grandly dressed woman in red wearing a large green plumed hat. Band around the neck says, “The Jennings Company Perfumers and “Grand Rapids, Mich.” Embossed on the brass cap is the company name and the brass stopper with the oval top says “Dorothy” and screws into cap. Bottom of bottle has a “2 Cents” postage style stamp that reads, “ Proprietary U.S. Internal Revenue.” Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall was a 1902 historical novel written by Charles Major about the life and romances of Dorothy Vernon in Elizabethan England. Top of neck to bottom of bottle 6” plus 1-1/4” stopper. DATE: Circa 1908.

Glass Bottles of Raphael’s Replique
2 Glass bottles of Raphael’s “Replique,” Bottles have their original paper labels with the signature “Replique” in script and the glass tulip shaped stoppers with the etched monogramed “R.” Bottles have some remaining perfume with sediment. Replique was established in Paris in 1930 and launched in the United States in 1946. Both belonged to Vivette Ravel Rifkin, mother of the collector and had been a gift from her sister Ruth Ravel Dawe upon her return from European travels. DATE: 1950s and 60s.

Glass Perfume Bottle and Atomizer
Glass Perfume Bottle and Atomizer Art Deco bottle in geometric pattern in both clear and frosted glass in an art deco skyscraper style. It has a brass plated dome cover and screw on stopper with a glass dauber. The bottom of the bottle is marked “Made in France for Saks Fifth Avenue.” The gold net covered atomizer pump bulb not original, it would be unusual to find one that has survived because they were made of rubber. Bottle 4-1/2” plus 2” atomizer. DATE: 1920s into 30s.

La Mona Toilet Water
“La Mona Toilet Water,” glass bottle with a brightly colored floral motif lithographic label with a band of the same colors around the neck. Embossed in script across the back of the bottle and around the brass cap, “The Bonheur Co., Inc. Syracuse, N.Y.” A round brass stopper fits into the cap.
Embossed “14 FL. Ounces” and on the bottom is a diamond with a capital “I” in the center.The 6-1/2” bottle is 2/3 full. Top of neck to bottom of bottle 7-1/2” plus 3/4” stopper. DATE: 1910 and 20s.
Lotion Vegetale de L’Elephant
“Lotion Vegetale de L’Elephant, Japigny - Paris” empty glass bottle. Lithographic label features a black elephant against a gold background with touches of pink. Glass stopper. Top of neck to bottom of bottle 8” plus 1-1/4” stopper. DATE: 1920 and 30s.
Matching Glass Perfume Bottles
Set of two matched glass bottles, one with dauber and the other with dauber and atomizer. Painted amber color along bottom and top with black vertical and horizontal lines across the body. One bottle with amber pancake style stopper, the other with its original rubber atomizer and ecru crocheted bulb cover. Bottles 4” from top of stoppers to bottom.
Nickel Over Brass Perfume Bottle
Nickel over brass Perfume Bottle and screw on stopper with a floral motif. The sides of the square section at the center of the bottle have a hand hammered floral design. The tall 2-1/4” screw on stopper has 5 cut out flowers that rise to a point. Dauber is attached to the stopper.

Shocking
”Shocking” by the Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli.The glass bottle in the shape of a tailor’s dummy, is reminiscent of the surrealistic movement she embraced. The bottle has the dressmaker’s measuring tape across the front and a bouquet of red, blue, green, yellow and white small glass flowers along the top with a frosted stopper and glass dauber. Label on the bottom of the box reads, “ Shocking De Schiaparelli, No. 19841 T.S.S.A. Perfumes Schiaparelli, Paris - Francia, Representantes Exclusivos Products Franceses Atlantida, S.A. No. 77 - Mexico, D.F.” Stamped on the bottom, “Box Made in France.” “Shocking,” her first and most famous fragrance was introduced in 1936. Scent in bottle. Bottle 2-3/4” from top of stopper to bottom. Bottle belonged to Vivette Ravel Rifkin, mother of the collector, and had been a gift her sister Ruth Ravel Dawe brought back from France. DATE: 1950s.
Sweet Pea Priere Perfume Bottle
“Sweet Pea Priere” Perfume Bottle made of embossed glass with a square amber translucent bakelite stopper. The bottle sits on a round tiered wood base. There is a short gold tassel at the top of the bottle. The bottle has a black oval paper label that in addition to the name says “New York.” The perfume house of Fioret, Inc. was imported in the USA by F. Salathe & Co. of New York starting in 1921. Although Sweet Pea was introduced in that same year the translucent bakelite stopper would suggest this bottle was from the 40s. Bottle 5-1/4” from top of stopper to bottom of base. DATE: 1940s.
