Woven black and white raffia hat

Woven black and white raffia hat with an extremely complicated design. Brim is solid black woven raffia, crown is black and white woven raffia. Hat is lined in fine black silk. Front of the hat is decorated with an elaborate combination of white silk flowers, black velvet ribbon, real jet ornament and wing like decoration of black velvet that is bordered with black and white woven raffia and two large black feathers which curve up and over the crown. The front right side and part of the back is draped with black window pane netting. 11” diameter and about 11” tall. DATE: Circa 1905.
