Hias Immigrant Ladies Club Party. Black and white photo of Baby Doll Party, 29 girls posing with their baby dolls. The third girl from right in second row is Sarah Wilkouski and next to her towards the center is Belle Wilkouski, her sister.
On the back of the picture Sarah wrote:
Sis and Me With all the girls, Dolly Party given by the Hias Immigrant Ladies Club – Oh Boy We Sure Had a Very Good time – 1933. The 2 Prettiest gals Sis & I, We Modeled Clothes.” Handwritten on front “1933, Hias Junioryets.” Sarah Wilkouski, from Chicago, Illinois was 22 years old when this picture was taken. She was the collectorʼs mother-in-law. 8” x 10.” The exodus of Jewish emigrants from Russia led to the founding of the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society in 1881 in New York. Over the years it has provided assistance to thousands of refuges, both Jewish and non-Jewish. Stamped on photo “Jan. 14 - 1933.” DATED: 1933.

YWCA navy blue silk Bag in hexagon shape
YWCA navy blue silk Bag in hexagon shape heavily beaded in a diamond pattern along with a solid navy beaded horizontal strip across the center with the YWCA logo in gold with a red beaded “YWCA.” Both sides identical. Purse is lined in pink polished cotton, with one small interior pocket, fastens with a snap at center top and has a self fabric loop handle to be carried on wrist. It is trimmed around the opening with a box pleated self fabric ruffle and loop handle, to be carried on wrist. Looped beaded fringe in white, gold, navy and red along the bottom. 6-1/2” wide at center and 8” long. The Young Women’s Christian Association of the USA was incorporated in New York City in 1907. DATE: Anytime after 1907 and into the 20s and 30s.

Zig Zag Corde Bag
Corde’ handbags were created using rows of gimp in unique patterns stitched to a fabric background. In the early 1940s Sears Roebuck & Company Catalog advertised corde bags for $7.50. DATE: 1940s.
Structured corde’ bag in a zig zag pattern with a zipper and two prystal handles. Black fabric lining with a pocket. Inside label says “M.E. Product” and “It speaks for itself.” Bag 12” x 9-1/2” x 2.”

WWI Letter Pouch (cream)
WWI Letter Pouch in cream satin with a pink ribbon border and a framed rectangle embroidered with pink flowers with words “To my Friend” and a gold tone “USA” pin.The inside cream cover has a silk screen picture of a woman in profile framed within a flower printed heart, and the profile of soldier in an oval frame with an eagle standing on 2 crossed rifles. In the center between the two portraits is another flag, the words “Forget Me Not” and a 4 lines poem. Includes eagle pin that says “CMTCM,” with crossed rifles and the initials “HM.” The inside of the bottom has a pocket made of flag fabric with 48 stars. Pouch 7” x 10-1/2.” DATE: Circa 1917.

The inside of the cover is cream with four roses creating a frame and in the middle the word “Mother” with a 4 line poem. The inside of the bottom has a pocket made of flag fabric with 48 stars. WWII Letter Pouch in deep pink satin, the word “Sweetheart hand-painted on a diagonal between two red roses. The inside of the pouch is cream satin with a poem “Sweetheart” and on the bottom is a pocket that says “US Army” with pink flowers. Inside the pocket is a tiny piece of light blue fabric pair of underpants w/cream lace trim, and written on them is “US Army” on one side and on the other, “To my Sweetheart.” There is a picture of Cupid, silk screened in black w/a poem titled “Sweetheart.” 7” x 11.” DATE:1940s

World War Service “Sister” pink and white silk cover, navy back and gray fringe, says “USA Camp Gordon Atlanta, Ga” and in the upper left corner is the image of a doughboy’s face set inside a star w/American, French and British flags, and on top of the star there is an American Eagle holding a ribbon w/the words “World War Service.” In the lower right corner is “Lady Justice” with her sword and shield and the eagle with the words, “E Pluribus Unum 1918.” Circa: 1918

Ribbon over anchor reads “Our Navy America’s Guardian USN.” Center top has an American eagle and American coat of arms, bordered by cruiser and aircraft carrier. Along the bottom is a battleship, a seaplane, submarine and destroyer. DATE: Circa 1941.

Printed in the center in large navy blue letters, “U.S.Navy,” to left “In service for my country and You,” on the right is a large “V,” in the middle “Camp Peary, Va” Along the bottom left is a 2” bee with a sailor’s hat and gun with the word “Seabees,” to the right a framed poem “to My Mother” DATE: Circa: 1941.

U.S. Army peach acetate cover with orange fringe. In the center is a poem to “Mother,” with a fighting eagle and is bordered with 2 planes, one a “F-28” and 4 pictures of soldiers in the field. Stamped “Fort Lee, Va.” DATE: Circe 1941.
“Mothers of World War II” Hat (red satin)
“Mothers of World War II” Hat, styled like service men’s “side cap,” in red satin with white piping, a patch and 5 blue stars. Blue stars signify she has 5 living sons in the service, stars are always hand sewed should the situation change. DATED: December 1941 to July 1945.
Cobalt Ceramic Cuspidor
Cobalt Ceramic Cuspidor embossed with leaves and highlighted with 4 gold painted fluere-de-lis around the sides. There is also a spray of gold along the inside top edge. 7-1/2” diameter at the top edge and 5-1/2” high. DATE: 1890s.
Pocket Spittoon
Pocket Spittoon, nickel plated brass oval shape w/screw on cap for emptying; hinged 1-3/4” round door opens to tunnel like opening for spit, inside door is covered w/a screw on plate framed w/rubber, “The KNY-Scheerer Corporation of America,” and “Germany,” 2” x 4.” Although it was purchased as a lady's spittoon it was probably designed for men and also used by women. DATED: 1926.
Oval Snuff Box
Oval Snuff Box, the lid is engraved with a parrot surrounded by fruit trees. Engraved on the bottom, “patented March 24, 1868 and Feb 17, 1874.” Measures 7.5” x 2.5” x 1.5.” DATE: Circa 1874.

Green Pipe and Case, bakelite or similar plastic. The 1” bowl is decorated with tiny colored rhinestones, The shank is 4-3/4.” The case is faux snakeskin lined in white fur and silk. Made in Austria.

Cigarette Holder, 15” opera length, ebonite w/brass metal tips, decorated w/etchings of smoke curl and flowers. DATE: 1920s.
Mini Heart Cigarette Lighter (nickel silver)
Mini Heart Cigarette Lighter, nickel silver over brass w/a heavily embossed motif of leaves and scrolls. The front of the heart has a second very tiny heart shaped mirror. A tiny center knob at the top swings open from the side exposing the lighter. 1-1/4” at its widest and 1-1/2” high.
Betty Boop Butler Cigarette Stand
Betty Boop Butler Cigarette Stand, a 30” wood cut out, painted in the traditional Betty Boop colors of red and black, a red dress, lips and earrings and black hair, facial features, heels and garter. The animated cartoon character was originally created as a French poodle in 1930 and became a human character in 1932. In the 1930s it was common to see this style cigarette stand of popular comic book characters. DATE: Mid to late 1930s.
Temperance, WCTU Pin
Temperance Pin, silver WCTU 2 piece Pin. Pin back piece says “WTCU” and hanging piece says, “Oratorical Prize.” Measures 1” x 3/4.” The Women’s Christian Temperance Union was formed in 1874. Behind the WCTU's temperance reform was "protection of the home." The slogan "For God and Home and Native Land," later changed to "Every Land" expressed the WCTU's priorities. Through education and example the WCTU hoped to obtain pledges of total abstinence from alcohol, and later also tobacco and other drugs.

She has short curly brown hair, wears a cream cloche w/a a wide light blue satin headband w/a large bow at the side. She has large blue eyes and Cupid’s Bow lips. 16” D with two rows of trim, one cream lace and one the blue ribbon.
